Our staff is small but hard working. Pastor Gary is in the office all day on Monday and Wednesday and all morning on Tuesday and Thursday spending the afternoon working on sermons and Bible studies in his home study. Friday is his “official” day off but is available for emergencies. Saturdays are partly spent on final preparation for Sunday services, visits and other ministry needs.
Dr. Gary Ransom Cox, Pastor-Teacher
Our pastor-teacher is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary (DMin), Trinity Theological Seminary (MDiv) and Bob Jones University (BA). He grew up in a military family and later served as an Army Chaplain in both the National Guard and Army Reserves. As a chaplain, he was called to active duty in support of Desert Shield-Desert Storm.
Gary is married to Rita and they have four grown children scattered throughout the Southeast. Gary enjoys Teddy (the grandcat), golf, flavored coffee, key lime pie, sugar-sand beaches, NFL football and disaster flicks. Originally from the Atlantic coast of New Jersey, Gary has spent most of his adult life in the South and claims it as his adopted home – especially Alabama where Rita is from.
